Brian is a partner in the Malaysia office of AIIPG, where he has fully devoted to assist his clients in realizing full potential of their IPR. He has extensive experience in IP management and Prosecution particularly dealing with various issues arisen from IP Office of different jurisdictions. He also provides due diligence service for his clients prior to conclusion of commercial transactions on technology licensing, transfer, assignments, etc. His recent activities include working with small and medium enterprises to develop and implement IP strategies, participating consultation sessions to advise on IP issues, and helping startup companies to build their IP portfolio.
Before joining AIIP Group, Brian served the roles as Patent Manager and Patent Attorney respectively in two different highly-regarded IP firms in Malaysia and Singapore. During his time in Malaysia, he led a team of engineers and scientist to cater wide range of IP services to meet both international and local demands. Under his supervision, the firm he served was named as one of the best patent prosecution firms in Malaysia. When he further his career in Singapore, he was then identified as world’s leading patent lawyer by Who’s Who Legal.
Apart from the above, Brian is a big fan for Marvel Heroes Movies and Japanese manga. When not working, he enjoys reading, travelling and playing interactive online card games.

Charlie is a competent entrepreneur and business strategist with a proven track record in building successful businesses and consulting for various organizations over a span of almost two decades starting with the founding of a pre-2K tech start-up which attracted investment from a NASDAQ-listco. He and his businesses has since received special features in newspapers, magazines and events.
He has since been involved in initiating and completing M&A of companies as well as business strategy evaluation, development and innovation at various stages of the M&A exercise. His recent highlights include a successful private acquisition of a construction supplies engineering group which he is currently leading the business strategy redevelopment and debt restructuring for. In 2018, he has syndicated licensing deals for a leading food processing company, an award winning company designing user-interface design outfit, a water processing technology business and a museum showcase systems company.
Charlie has a shipbuilding and offshore engineering lineage with more than a decade of cumulative engineering experience in this field. He began his career proper in software engineering and later launched an investment outfit focusing on industrial engineering and chemicals businesses serving contract manufacturers in the region. Charlie was also engaged in medical robotics systems research with a local university and was part of the team that developed “the world’s first robot brain surgeon” (Herald Tribune), garnering several international research publications in the process. His technology background extends from being an inventor (voice recognition and proton-exchange membranes) to being a developer of OID coding & OID code recognition algorithms. Charlie has won awards for his work on UMW Trading and at Singapore’s first National business plan competition.
Charlie is a registered service provider (SP) for the Innovation vertical under SPRING Singapore’s ICV scheme and has undertaken various projects revolving around IP management, Innovation management, IP extraction, Licensing system advisory and Franchise system advisory.
Charlie has received various accolades and awards in business and has functioned as iLead mentor for the NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) programme, juror for Startup@Singapore 24 Hours Challenge, juror for the Professional Enterprise Award and sub-committee member with the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE). Charlie has previously served on both the Films Consultative Panel and the Publications Consultative Panel under the Media Development Authority of Singapore (now known as IMDA). He was adjunct lecturer at the National University of Singapore (2003-2014), tutored at the Nanyang Technological University (early 2000) and is frequently invited as guest-speaker for various institutes of management and commerce. Charlie has sat on the Examination Committee for the Patent Agent/Attorney Qualifying Examinations conducted by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and is Expert-Certified by TUV SUD under Singapore’s Certified Management Consultant framework.

Dr. Napawan is a graduate of medical and law schools. She has been practicing as a medical doctor specialized in Ophthalmology for years until she decided to put her legal knowledge in use for the field of Intellectual Property.
She embarked her IP profession with an IP firm based in Singapore. During her time in Singapore, she was engaged with IP works from different jurisdictions, due to her legal background, rapidly widening her knowledge and expertise in IP. After being transferred back to Thailand, she took the opportunity to sit on Thailand patent agent examination and acquired the necessary qualification to serve the local clients better. Currently with AIIPG, she is actively involved in IP and other legal matters assisting mainly local universities and research institutes to protect and commercialize their IP assets in both overseas and local markets. Further, she has been invited to work with Mahindol University as the IP counselor to oversee their IP activities. In her free time during weekend, Dr. Napawan works pro bono in a healthcare facility located at outskirts of Bangkok city.

Trinle Dao is a Vietnamese registered IP attorney. She is one of the very few Vietnamese registered IP attorneys having considerable experiences in contentious trademark proceedings, trademark oppositions, invalidations, revocations and appeals in both Vietnam and Singapore Intellectual Property Offices. Since 2005, she has been practicing in IP at leading local (Vietnam) and overseas (Singapore) Iaw firms providing full range of IP services. She has served wide spectrum of clients ranging from individual innovator to multinational corporations. These precious exposures impart her good judgement and understanding about needs of every client thus capable of offering satisfactory advice about each case handled by her.
Besides working on IP matters, Trinle also undertakes assignments from Singapore High Court as an interpreter for parties requiring Vietnamese language translation in given legal proceedings. Through these assignments, she gained valuable insights about Singapore court proceedings in addition to local Vietnamese court procedures. Also, she leads a team in our Vietnam Office to provide translation service for a group of clients about their promotion and marketing content published on the brochure and website.
Crochet is Trinle’s favorite pastime that the textiles produced will generally be sold for charity or used for her kid.
